Funny Parenting Memes

I’ll just be upfront about this: I am not super clear on how copyright works for memes. They’re created and shared widely and quickly, usually with no credit to the original creators except maybe their watermark remaining intact, and apparently there’s nothing owed to whoever made the images that serve as backgrounds to the clever text, either, since the content has been “changed” enough by being “commented on” with said clever text. So, I’m taking the risk of breaking some rules, because I barely know the rules. I am doing my best. I did some research before posting this so I would have a vague idea of what I’m getting myself into. I’ve tried to link to original sources when I could find them (click the image).

On to the fun part!

One morning, Cecily woke up before 6am. Well, this used to happen somewhat frequently. I am thankful those days are over now. But on one such particularly unpleasant morning when she did, I fed her breakfast and then lay on the floor beside her while she played. I was hoping she wouldn’t wake up anyone else.

I was so virtuously passing the still-dark-outside time by….scrolling Facebook. 😇 😬🤷‍♀️ I came across a list of memes about “hanging out with kids” that was clearly targeting nannies and babysitters, but was SO RELATABLE for parents, too. And maybe I was just that tired, but I was literally laughing out loud at some of them. You can find the full list here. (Also, just a warning, there is some questionable language in some of the memes; in case you’re not into that, maybe don’t click. Same goes for the other content on the sites linked by the photos. Click at your own risk. But there really are some gems out there.)
